Western State Design Raises Over $40,000 for IFHF

Western State Design (WSD), a coin-op laundry equipment distributor headquartered in Hayward, Calif., announced the completion of their six month fundraising campaign for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF), with $40,700 donated to the Fund. Over the course of the campaign, WSD set aside one dollar per pound of rated capacity for all Dexter Laundry coin-op washers and dryers sold between July and December 31, 2013 – a forty pound rated capacity Dexter coin-op washer would generate $40 for the campaign.

Thomas Marks, Executive Vice President of WSD, presents a check from their fundraising campaign for $40,700 to IFHF President David Winters

IFHF is building a series of nine treatment facilities at military installations around the country for wounded heroes diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress as a result of their service, and is headquartered at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City.

On Jan. 6, 2014, Thomas Marks, Executive Vice President of WSD, presented a check for $40,700 to IFHF President David Winters, aboard the Intrepid. “WSD and Dexter Laundry are proud to join others in support of this independent not for profit organization dedicated to severely wounded veterans. This year, WSD pledged a donation to IFHF from each Dexter coin-op washer and dryer sold from July until the end of the year 2013, and we’re honored to be able to deliver this check to them to help IFHF continue their service to our veterans,” said Marks.

Craig Kirchner, Vice President of Dexter Laundry, echoed Marks’ statement that he was proud to support IFHF. Dexter Laundry participated in this campaign.

During the six months of fundraising, WSD sold Dexter coin-op washers and dryers totaling over 40,000 pounds of rated capacity to over a hundred coin-op laundromats across seven states. From Arizona to Alaska, WSD worked with local coin-op laundries to install the equipment and raise as much money as they could for IFHF and wounded veterans.

“We chose to base our sales fundraiser on Dexter coin-op machines because they’re an employee-owned company and all of their machines are made right here in the United States. What better way to support our veterans,” said Marks. “We also have a proven track record in selling Dexter coin-op laundry equipment, so we knew we could maximize our fundraising goals by selling their equipment,” he added.

With 37 years experience as a premier, full-service distributor to the coin-op laundry industry, Western State Design has grown to become one of the largest coin laundry equipment distributors in the world.
