Valentine’s Day Care Packages

January is coming to a close, which means that Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it. Now is the time to make sure you have a February care package for your beloved service member. How do you put together the perfect care package? It’s all about getting creative! Here are a few ideas:

Something Sweet
When we think Valentine’s Day, the first thing that comes to mind is a sweet treat. A box of chocolate, some candy hearts, and some Hershey’s Kisses can all fulfill the sweetness factor of your care package. Don’t feel the need to stop there! Add in a package of hot chocolate for some unique sweetness, and don’t forget at least one package of their favorite candy from home. If you bake, don’t be afraid to whip up their favorite brownies or cookies. Simple baked goods typically ship with ease and arrive in one piece and still tasting great!

Completion Gifts
You’re the zig to my zag. You’re the cream to my coffee. You’re the day to my night. All those cute, sentence-completing ways to describe your relationship are fantastic ways to come up with a unique, thoughtful, and singular gift. Those above are just the tip of iceberg. From pillowcases and CDs to ping pong sets and shoelaces, here is a full list of ideas which may even inspire your own!

Have Some ‘Pun’ With It
If you like the completion gift idea, you’ll love the pun idea. One of our favorites is a bag of Hershey’s Kisses that says “A KISS for every day since our last.” A few other favorites: “Life would be unBEARable without you”, “I love you to PIECES”, and “Missing you MOUNDS.”

E-Entertainment
The little things go a long way. A gift card to Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, or Pandora is literally music to the ears of service members! Whether they have an ongoing subscription or need one, every little bit counts. Don’t forget about Audible for audiobook lovers, and gift cards to Amazon that can be used for Kindle e-book purchases as well as music and movie purchases. Then of course there are the heavyweights, Netflix and Hulu. Whichever is right for your service member, be sure to double check any regulations and/or restrictions where your service member is stationed to ensure they can utilize the gift card you select.

Card Or Letter
All of the above fill a care package with some delicious and thoughtful fun, but don’t forget a card or letter! This is your opportunity to put your affection into words that some of the other things may not be able to express. Sometimes, the best cards can be found at the local card store. Other times, a DIY card is the best way to say exactly what’s on your mind. Every relationship is different, so it can be as fun or as heartfelt as fits the two of you!

Ready to send? Double check that you have all the supplies you need and you’re all set!
