Remembering Our Heroes

On Memorial Day, everyone across the nation pays tribute to our fallen heroes, those who have died while serving in the armed forces. Oftentimes, family and friends of the fallen will visit the graves of the ones they have lost, leave behind photos, the American flag, and other patriotic trinkets to thank them for all they’ve done to serve our country.

Today, we want to simply say “Thank you.” Thank you to the parents, grandparents and teachers who helped teach the brave service members their incredible values; thank you to the brothers and sisters who supported their sibling in their dreams of fighting for their country; thank you to the friends who were there for them as they traveled through their selfless journey; thank you to the children who looked up to their parent as the ultimate super hero; and thank you to the significant others who wrote letters, sent care packages and reminded them of their unfaltering love for their brave soldiers. You helped shape them into fiercely loyal individuals who put their lives on the line for what they believe in.

“These fallen heroes represent the character of a nation who has a long history of patriotism and honor – and a nation who has fought many battles to keep our country free from threats of terror.” -Michael N. Castle, American politician

So today, take a quiet moment to pause and reflect on those you know who have passed in service of the United States and thank those who supported their service members through it all.
