Team Intrepid Fallen Heroes, a four-person cycling team that will race their bicycles more than 3,000 miles across the country in the Race Across America, has partnered with Avenue of the Americas Association and Drill Fitness to host an outdoor charity cycling event that will benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) on Wednesday, June 10th from 12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. at the 1345 Avenue of the Americas plaza, between 54th Street and 55th Street, in Manhattan.
50 cyclists are expected to participate in the event. Stationary bikes will be placed in rows overlooking Avenue of the Americas. The event aims to raise $50,000. In total, the team hopes to raise more than $650,000, which will help build nine Intrepid Spirit Centers, medical diagnostic and treatments centers across the country to help wounded military heroes returning from Iraq and Afghanistan who are suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and psychological health conditions.
Competing on Team Intrepid Fallen Heroes are Winston Fisher, Partner with the Fisher Brothers real estate firm in New York; Evan “Chip” Marks, Co-Founder of Sungate Asset Management LLC; Brian Collins, Head of Development for Fisher Brothers; and Jessica Lynn Marino, an equity sales trader for Instinet.
RAAM begins on June 20th in Oceanside, California and concludes at City Dock in Annapolis, Maryland. RAAM is considered to be among the world’s most respected and harshest endurance cycling events, and is nearly 50% longer than the Tour de France.
