This month, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Edyta Piatek in our Employee Spotlight series! Edyta is the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund’s donations administrator and has been with us 10 years this month! When she initially signed on to work with us many years ago, she felt passionate about working with a charity that makes a difference in other people’s lives, a passion she still has today. “When you go to work every day, it makes you feel good about what you doing.” Why did she want to work with IFHF as opposed to other charities? “Our organization sends 100% of donations
to the projects and that makes it different from many organizations.”
Edyta is Polish-American and her grandfather was a soldier in WWII, so the connection she has to the military hits home for her. Working with nice people and helping our country’s service members are the two things she loves most about working at IFHF. When she’s not at work, though, Edyta loves spending as much time as she can with her family. From watching her son play soccer to her daughter during her dance lessons to traveling with her family, she loves being involved in their lives. When she has a little alone time, though, Edyta loves to relax with a good book, specifically if it’s by her favorite author, James Patterson!
We certainly are lucky to have such a caring and compassionate person working with us. Speaking of lucky, even though Edyta was born on the 13th day of the month with the last name that means “Friday” in Polish, she claims that she is very lucky in life! How’s that for a fun fact?
