In 2007, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund opened the doors to a state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation facility at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. The Center for the Intrepid (CFI) is an advanced outpatient rehabilitation center, which blends therapy, simulation, and extreme sports to care for service members who are amputees, burn patients and more.
On January 29 we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the opening of CFI with a crowd of 500 people including many past patients who were able to reconnect with the doctors and therapists who were critically important during their treatment and transition back to daily life. Since the opening in 2007, this world-class facility has treated more than a thousand of our nation’s severely injured heroes.
The incredible and dynamic team of professionals at CFI stand ready to receive those affected by the wounds of war, living every day with an energetic desire to innovate and shape the future of military rehabilitation medicine. We are grateful for every person who donated to make centers like these possible for the betterment of our military personnel.
Please join us in our very special mission to help the military heroes who have sacrificed so much in service to our nation by contributing to this effort
