For our December Newsletter, the President of Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, David Winters, wrote a recap of the outstanding success Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund saw this year:
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund had a great year. A team supporting our Fund participated in the annual Race Across America bicycle challenge and finished first in their class. We hired a new team member for pursuing foundation grant funding. We revamped our website to make it more streamlined and user friendly. Even the Governor of Texas joined us for the groundbreaking of our fifth Intrepid Spirit TBI center, at Fort Hood.
Most importantly, in September, our third Intrepid Spirit Center, at Fort Campbell, KY, opened and began treating patients. This newest Intrepid Spirit Center, together with the first two centers at Fort Belvoir and Camp Lejeune, is providing amazing care to many of our wounded heroes who suffer from traumatic brain injury and psychological health conditions.
We are excited to be opening two more centers, at Fort Bragg, NC and Fort Hood, TX in 2015. But thousands more of our troops need help, and we remain focused on our goal of building a total of nine Intrepid Spirit centers. We can only reach that goal with your support. All of us at the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund thank you for your past support. As always, we also thank all who have courageously served our nation in uniform and their families.
