2015 In Review with IFHF President Dave Winters

2015 saw wonderful achievements for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and our efforts to support American military personnel suffering the effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI), and their families.  We broke ground on our sixth Intrepid Spirit Center, at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington, which will join our network of centers providing the best possible care for wounded heroes suffering the effects of TBI.  We joined in celebrating the fifth anniversary of the opening of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, the centerpiece facility for research, diagnosis and treatment for TBI afflicting our wounded heroes in uniform.

Many friends joined in support of our efforts.  For the second straight year Team Intrepid Fallen Heroes – Winston Fisher, Chip Marks, Brian Collins and Jessica Lynn Marino – participated in the annual bicycle Race Across America, and once again finished first in their division while raising over $650,000.  Likewise, Dave Cockman rode his bike solo 600 miles across North Carolina to raise money and awareness.  NAPA Auto Parts again partnered with us, an effort that over four years has raised millions of dollars thanks to the generous help of their store owners, suppliers and customers.   CK Mondavi also joined with us for the fourth straight year, raising funds through wine sales.  And we executed our first-ever coordinated Giving Day fundraising campaign on December 1, raising $120,000 from generous from givers across the country.  Many, many other friends, organizations, companies and foundations too numerous to list here also joined our efforts.

All of these efforts share one goal:  providing urgently needed support for our troops suffering from TBI, and their families.   At this special time of year, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and help us build the remaining Intrepid Spirit Centers so they can receive the best care possible.  They need our help today!  Please visit our website to make a year-end gift to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund – there is no better way to say thank you to our heroes who have sacrificed so much for our nation.

The entire Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund team wishes all our men and women in uniform a wonderful and safe holiday and new year, and we thank you for your generosity and support.
